Susana Grilo is an independent producer and founder of Xtra Realities, an international editorial platform exploring storytelling, immersive media and the future of entertainment.
With a background spanning audiovisual production, publishing and interactive storytelling, she develops premium television and animation projects inspired by exceptional literary and original intellectual property.
Her work combines narrative development, world-building and cross-media storytelling, with a particular interest in fantasy, speculative fiction and emotionally driven stories for international audiences.

Selected Experience
Susana began her career in animation at Cartoon Saloon, the Academy Award-nominated Irish studio behind Song of the Sea and The Secret of Kells. She contributed to production management on Song of the Sea and supported the studio's communications during a formative period of international growth. This early experience with premium animated storytelling continues to shape her approach to developing literary IP for television and animation.
For four years, Susana served as Marketing Director for Ragnarok Publications / Outland Entertainment (USA), working with internationally published fantasy and speculative fiction authors. Collaborating closely with publishers, authors, and licensing professionals gave her a practical understanding of publishing, literary rights, and intellectual property—experience she now applies to identifying literary IP with strong adaptation potential. She has also spoken on fantasy worldbuilding and literary adaptation at the London Book Fair.
Susana is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Xtra Realities, an international editorial platform exploring immersive technologies, storytelling, and the future of entertainment. Through Xtra Realities, she has curated industry content, produced XR events, moderated conversations with creators, and spoken at international conferences including Cannes XR, VRDays Europe, and the Immersive Global Summit. Her work has built an international network across publishing, animation, immersive media, and interactive entertainment.
